We are a dedicated Areca and Sal leaf tableware manufacturer in India committed to zero-waste, tree-friendly production. Discover our story and values.
Founded with a mission to curb plastic pollution, Leaf 2 Plate has grown into a leading bulk manufacturer of biodegradable dinnerware. Our operations are guided by the circular economy: using agricultural byproduct to create value, avoiding tree felling, and creating rural employment.
By working directly with palm cultivation growers and local tribal forest gatherers, we create a sustainable supply chain that supports local families while delivering certified export-quality products to the international market.

"Unlike paper dinnerware which requires logging, or sugarcane bagasse which relies on heavy crop chemical run-off, palm leaf tableware is harvested purely from agricultural droppings, representing the absolute lowest lifecycle impact of any disposable tableware."
We implement a strict 6-step manufacturing process to ensure our products are robust, sterile, and moisture-controlled before bulk export.
We collect naturally shedded sheaths of the Areca catechu palm and wild Sal trees. No trees are cut, trimmed, or damaged. Our collection network directly supports rural farmers and tribal communities by turning waste leaves into a secondary source of income.
Once received at our factory, the leaves undergo multiple pressure wash cycles in clean, running spring water to remove sand, dust, and natural debris. We use no soaps, chemical detergents, or bleaching agents during this cleaning phase.
While still moist, the leaves are placed under custom iron dyes heated to 180°C. Steam heat molds the leaf sheath permanently into circular plates, rectangular serving trays, or deep soup bowls. The high temperature naturally sanitizes the fiber.
Pressed plates are precision-trimmed to smooth out any fibers or sharp leaf edges. Our workers inspect each plate to guarantee they are splinter-free, sturdy, and comfortable to handle.
Before wrapping, all dinnerware passes through a specialized conveyor tunnel equipped with medical-grade UV-C lamps to destroy microscopic organisms and mold spores. Samples from each batch are tested for moisture level consistency.
To prevent any moisture absorption during ocean container transit, plates are shrink-wrapped in food-grade packs of 25 with active silica gel moisture absorbers, then loaded into double-wall 5-ply export master cartons.
